Life Changes and Special Enrollment Periods
Open Enrollment for 2025 has passed but you may still be able to get insurance using a
special enrollment period (SEP). Have you or anyone in your household had any of the
following changes recently?
- Been found ineligible for Medicaid or Healthy Montana Kids
- Gotten married
- Had a new baby or family member join your household
- Changed or lost a job or health insurance from an employer
- Moved to Montana
These changes and more can allow you to apply for health insurance outside of Open
Enrollment. Cover Montana Navigators can help you figure out if you might qualify to
enroll now and assist with that process. Don’t wait to reach out – many SEPs are only
available for 60 or 90 days from the date of the change! To find out quickly if you qualify,

Some people can get health insurance year-round, including enrolled members of
federally recognized Native American tribes and people who earn at or below 150% of
the federal poverty level (FPL). That’s around $1950 a month for one person and $4000
for a family of four. Think that might be you? Give us a call or schedule an appointment
to get help.
